Definitely worth a visit. For 1500円, you can get a bowl of rice and add a number of sashimi pieces (also mussels, tamago, etc) to it. The fish is fresh and tasty.

Very unique take on how to enjoy fresh seafood in Japan. Buy some tickets, get a bowl of rice (1 ticket) and use the remaining tickets to find the freshest seafood in the market and have the vendors place them on top of your rice for a personalized Chirasi-don. Brilliant concept =)

Enter and buy tickets from the reception/information desk. 5 tickets give you a small bowl, 10 a large. Collect rice with 1 or 2 tickets then pick from an assortment of different toppings such as salmon, tuna, prawns, roe and many others. Very friendly shop owners, English is fairly limited. Food was delicious and very, very fresh!

Creating your own Nokkedon is enjoyable. There are so many choices for the toppings that it may seem that the 10 tickets would not be enough

Had a lot of fun here. You can create your own Donburi and search the fish you like at the whole fish market. A great experience!My wife is Japanese so there was no language barrier. Can't say how it would have been without that help.Still, I recommend to try that if you like fish.

Nice little Fish Market. A must try when in Aomori. Very Fresh. Head over to the counter and purchase some tickets. Use 1 to get some rice and walk around to the many vendors and select what ever toppings you like. All the vendors are very friendly and very helpful.

Very delicious and fresh seafood here. You can buy tickets where you can have a make your own seafood ricebowl, where you go to the vendors and buy some sashimi. After you pick out what you want they have sports where you can sit to watch your seafood bowl. For the freshness of the fish, it is worth buying here.

WONDERFUL breakfast with HUGE FRESH seafood donburi at only 1,300 yen!!! Loved this experience, do not miss it! A short 10 min walk from Aomori JR Station, easy to find by google maps as Aomori Nokkedon, and you go into a small indoor fish market, bustling with fresh seafood.You need to buy a set of 10 coupons for 1,300 yens and get for this a bowl of hot sticky rice and buy small portions of seafood of your choice, going through the stalls.. we ate salmon roe, fatty tuna, prawns, roasted salmon, squid, AMAZING AND YUMMY!!!! GIVE IT A TRY!!

Good for a quick lunch and a different way to picking out your own sashimi.

Fish market. You go in and pay for an amount of stamps/vouchers of your choice. Then you get a bowl of rice and go around the market where you choose what kind of sashimi or tsukemono (pickles) you like to put on your rice. You exchange the stamps for the fresh goods you'd like. Adventurous eating! They have all sorts of fish, squid, shellfish, sea pineapple and plenty pickles to go with that.There are sitting areas where you can sit down and eat. Free tea, self service.

An excellent seafood market. You can purchase and create your own sushi bowl with anything you want. I personally chose raw squid and scallops which were both very fresh. Staff are generally really friendly too. You can buy dried seafood here. A short walk away from the train station and nearby hotels.

For 650-1300 yen, you get tickets to exchange for 5/10 portions of seafood to add to your rice, an interesting concept and very fresh seafood

I went twice.The first time was only my favorite one and I was biased.The second time, I chose a well-balanced one.I recommend that there are open around 8 o'clock in the morning.

Definitely must eat and visit if you come to Aomori and eat the fresh big prawns and clams. I bought 10+5 tickets and cost less than 2,000 yen!

Fresh seafood market. Buy ticket first. Use each ticket to get rice on bowl at first, then exchange ticket to get any of your favorite sea food ingredient combo from seafood vendor you like. Make your own seafood mix rice bowl. Have fun there.

Good place to pick and choose your kaisedon toppings and not spend a fortune. Get here earlier, between 7-9 for the best selection. Complimentary tea and water at each set of seating.

Great place to experience some extremely fresh fish. You have many market stalls from which to pick and can make your bowl however you like it.

Lots of fresh seafood to choose from. The nokkedon price has increased to ¥1500 from 1st October 2019.

Furukawa fish market is the best place to eat nokkedon (Rice serve with your own selection of raw seafood). The seafood quality is excellent and the you have lots of choice of seafood here from Maguro (Tuna), Hotate (Scallop), Uni (Sea urchin) and Hamachi (Japanese amberjack).

The food quality is great but I don't think it's worth the money. Its just opinion. You might better better deal elsewhere. Nonetheless, it's still a popular spot in Aomori.

Fun way to eat seafood.Visited in August 2018 during Nebuta Festival.I went to eat lunch there, the system is quite easy you have to queue and buy some tickets and then you can exchange the tickets in the fish shops of the market and make your own kaisendon (rice bowl with fresh seafood). Then you can eat your own creation in a seat. It's a fun way to make your own rice bowl with seafood. Expect long queues if you come during Nebuta festival, so I recommend you come early.

Nice. Came here when it's just opened and there are fewer customers. Tried prawn, scallop and really nice try. Prawn is very fresh

Not in the season. No apple on Tue trees. But took different apple wines and apple juices. Very nice.

Really cool concept for a fish market. For 1300yen u get 10 tickets. And you make your own seafood rice bowl by going to each shop and pick whichever sashimi you want. Most cost one ticket but some special one cost two. The rice cost two.

Buy 15 tickets for 1500, or 6 tickets for 600 or so. You get a bowl of rice and then you walk around the stalls, exchanging tickets for pieces of fish, omelet, etc. All pretty good quality, and a fun experience.

Fresh seafood market operated by the ticketing system, where one buys either 5 or 10 tickets and fills his/her bowl with the delicious sashimi for sale. Some items also on sale via cash. Recommend getting 10 tickets as uni = 3 tickets, chutoro = 2 tickets...even the rice is worth a ticket. 10 tickets goes for ¥1,300 which is pretty worth it compared to other restaurants.

We went during lunchtime on a Thursday morning and it wasn't busy at all. You purchase x amounts of tickets for trading in for various toppings for your seafood don. Bowl of rice options are small or large quantities of rice. This is a very affordable, comfortable, and fun lunch experience. Do get scallops if you are here! We only found one stall with crab and one stall with pickles! We also saw people with miso soup, but couldn't find that stall. Tea and water are available on the side. Interior seating is available. Free public bathrooms are on the second floor!

Freshest fish! This rather small seafood market is a must do if you love seafood. Buy a ticket costing 1500yen, pick up a bowl of rice and go trade your coupons for beautiful fresh seafood. Tuna belly here is superb. There's seating areas where you take the bowl, pick up utensils and condiments then enjoy your food. Terrific and happy vibe from the vendors at this market.

For 1300 yen you can make your very own seafood rice bowl. Just keep in mind that absolutely no one speaks english here, should you have any questions.

Awesome morning market where you buy a dozen tokens, pick up your rice bowl and proceed through the market exchanging the tokens for delicious fresh sashimi and toppings of your choice. A must do in Aomori!

Pretty fresh and yummy sashimi.A couple of quick tips:- Take a stroll around the entire market before choosing your toppings - certain stalls look to have fresher sashimi- observe the locals - we noticed several stalls in particular had more patronage which obviously results in higher turnover and more generous servings

People go like its a buffet!Real weird stuff.If you like fish, this is a 5 star place for you!
